Mechanical Engineer – Fire Pumps, Sprinklers & Generators

Location: London & Home Counties
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Hours: Average 45 hours per week
Salary: Competitive, based on experience + benefits

We are partnered with a leading national Fire Pump business seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join their field-based team. The company specialises in the service, maintenance, and installation of fire pumps, sprinkler systems, and generators, and offers excellent long-term career opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out service, maintenance, and installation of fire pumps, generators, and control systems at customer sites
  • Diagnose and manage both mechanical and electrical faults independently
  • Maintain clear communication with office coordinators and clients regarding job status and findings
  • Complete all relevant documentation and compliance records accurately and promptly

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience working on fire pumps, sprinkler systems, diesel generators, or similar mechanical/electrical equipment
  • Strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics
  • Electrical qualifications are beneficial but not essential
  • Logical, methodical problem-solving approach
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Valid CSCS card
