Heavy Plant Engineer – East Anglia
Job Description
£36,000–£40,000 | 40 hours per week | Mobile & Workshop Role
We’re working with a leading plant hire and machinery service provider who is looking to expand their engineering team with an experienced Heavy Plant Engineer. Based in East Anglia, this role involves a mix of workshop and mobile work, maintaining and repairing heavy plant equipment used across construction, agriculture, and infrastructure sites.
Role Overview:
- Service, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy plant equipment, including excavators, telehandlers, dumpers, rollers, and loaders
- Diagnose faults and perform mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical repairs
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns on-site or in the workshop
- Maintain accurate records of work carried out and liaise with the service team
- Adhere to health and safety procedures and industry standards at all times
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Heavy Plant Engineer or similar (e.g., agricultural, construction, or military equipment)
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge; electrical diagnostics desirable
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent preferred
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
